Jewish Students Respond to A.S. Senate’s Rejection of Divestment Resolution
UCSB’s Associated Students Senate has failed to pass a divestment resolution for the seventh time in nine years. The final vote consisted of 13 noes, 12 yeses, and zero abstentions by secret ballot. The meeting, which lasted for approximately 11 hours on Zoom, featured approximately 83 student and faculty voices from both sides of the debate. KCSB’s Ashley Rusch sits down with both former A.S. President Lea Toubian and former External Vice President for Statewide Affairs Alia Sky for their personal reflections after the Senate meeting.
