This year, iaminconstantflux! celebrated its fifth year since its first air date on KCSB-FM, September 13, 2019. iaminconstantflux! was born out of a desire to break the confinements I had limited myself with on my first radio show. Its title embodied the chaotic, unpredictable flow of life, but also served as a declaration of radical acceptance of that same truth. Through the show’s development, I’ve witnessed an openness to change that has enabled me to grow in ways I could only imagine. It has transformed not only the music I play, but the ways in which I think about identity and the abstract relationships we form to meaning.
Five years later, iaminconstantflux! is more than just a radio show; it’s a perfect representation of my commitment to growth. KCSB has played a vital role in this continuing transformation, providing a supportive space to experiment and self-expression. Independent, community radio is such a sacred place in today’s current political climate. These airwaves provide a canvas for personal sonic exploration, from world music to lo-fi to experimental sounds. Each playlist becoming a purview into my reflections of the world. I am grateful to continue to be on these airwaves and be part of the rich and beautiful community surrounding KCSB. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, and here’s to many more years of change, music, and connection.
In light & bliss,
applemartini

I celebrated the anniversary with a memorable party at Las Palmas Brewing in Palm Springs, CA. There was music provided by me and my lovely friends: Trankis, Picafresa000 and Enzo Langston. I also released the inaugural edition of my zine, Flux!, which will be available as a thank-you gift in our upcoming Fund Drive! Stay tuned for more info on that.
