Spencer’s Pick: ‘Blades of Grass’ by Sparkle Water. The Canadian indie rockers debut with a sweet and personal DIY video that showcases their upbeat rhythms and pop sensibilities. They will be playing at FUNZONE in Santa Barbara on Wednesday, April 20th with local bands Promblems and Pentagramma.
Kyle’s Pick: ‘Bus Ride’ by KAYTRANADA (with Karriem Riggins & River Tiber). A trippy instrumental from the forthcoming XL Recordings debut by KAYTRANADA, due May 6, 2016. The album features Anderson .Paak, Vic Mensa, Little Dragon, Syd, Craig David, Goldlink, Alunageorge and BADBADNOTGOOD.
Shay’s Pick: ‘Dorothy’ by Kevin Morby. Dreamy, laidback indie-rock from the veteran musician. His new album ‘Singing Saw’ is due to be released by Dead Oceans on April 15, 2016.
Spencer’s Pick: ‘Get A Grip’ by B Boys. A manic new wave-inspired punk jammer from the Brooklyn, NY trio. Their debut EP ‘No Worry No Mind’ was released by Captured Tracks on March 18th.
Kyle’s Pick: ‘I Went Outside Today’ by Open Mike Eagle and Paul White (featuring Aesop Rock). A soulful and upbeat collaboration between two highly underrated underground hip-hop artists. From the album ‘Hella Personal Film Festival’ by Open Mike Eagle and Paul White, released March 25, 2016.
